All art isn't in galleries. Just look at this extravagant display of color at the Hollywood Farmers' Market. It wouldn't be quite the same on a canvas.
The credit goes to Peacock Family Farms of Dinuba, which last Sunday set out this eye-popping display of peppers, both hot and cold (mild).
The yellow-green chiles in the basket on the left are spicy Hungarian peppers. On their right are fresh red Thai chiles. Orange habaneros spill out of the basket at the bottom.
Another basket was heaped with jalapeños (above). Have you noticed how hard it is to get spicy jalapeños these days? Those I buy in supermarkets are boringly mild. The same goes for those from the jalapeño plant in my yard.
I'm trusting that the Peacock jalapeños were spicy. At least they were in the hot pepper display.
The mild peppers (above) were yellow Hungarians, cute, small bells and slim red Italian roasting peppers. The eggplants behind them looked pretty good too!
